For the first time since 2014, Boardman Bikes are back in the little wheel leagues with a new range of six kid's bikes. With Christmas fast approaching and cycling booming, bikes will be top of many a Christmas Wishlist.

Six models make up the JNR (junior) range, each of which aims to encourage your kids to go cycling and exploring while also build their confidence and growth.

Five of the JNR models are inspired by Boardman’s adult HYB (hybrid) range, that should make for a versatile bike to cope with Tarmac, grass or gravel.

Importantly, weight is kept low throughout the range, with a real focus on child-friendly and correctly sized components, such as brake levers, handlebars and saddles, that helps make riding more enjoyable and develops cycling skills.

As a parent, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing your child's cycling story begin. The JNR range starts with the parent (happy) tear-jerking 12-inch balance bike. A balance bike is perfect for providing your little ones with the cycling foundations they can build on as they grow and gain confidence.

The 16-inch and 20-inch models both provide the step up from balance bike to pedal bike. These models could be the bike that gives your child that unforgettable, life memory moment of mastering pedaling for the first time.

As your family grows, the opportunity to adventure together is again all about making memories. The 24-inch and 26-inch models are adapted from the Boardman multi-purpose adult range and benefit from a 9-speed cassette, improved frame versatility and can be a way to open up the world further.

The final model in the range is a 26-inch wheeled version of the Boardman award-winning adult’s ADV range with drop handlebars allowing kids to ride faster on mixed terrain as they explore further and perhaps even enter their first race and all the possibilities that racing can offer.

Following the design features of the adult series, every aspect of the fit and functionality of each bike has been researched by Boardman. All models have lightweight triple-butted alloy frames with clean welds and metallic paint treatments. Hopefully, they ride as well as they look.

The Boardman JNR range is available now, except for the JNR 12-inch Balance, which is expected in late November. The bikes are available exclusively from Halfords and Tredz.
