May the Fourth be with you with this Mandalorian-inspired BMX from GT

As a writer of a certain age, the mere mention of Star Wars and BMX in the same sentence launches me on a nostalgia trip back to my youth faster than the Millennium Falcon making the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.

GT Bicycles had me drooling like an over-stimulated Wookie as they celebrated May the 4th, Star Wars Day 2023 with the release of a very special limited edition BMX. The GT Pro Performer 29: The Mandalorian Edition has re-imagined the lead character from the Disney+ series, Din Djarin. Transforming this much-loved character into two-wheel form with exquisite attention to detail that all Star Wars fans and the best BMX bike riders will love.

The Star Wars universe was just a glint in the eye of George Lucas when GT built its first BMX bike way back in 1972, and much like another childhood favorite the recently relaunched Raleigh Super Tuff Burner, BMX was the foundation of the GT empire it is today. The GT Factory racing team has built success across all disciplines and includes Jess Blewitt who was the first female rider to take part in Red Bull Hardline last year, and Ethan Craik, a former overall downhill world cup winner.

The GT Pro Performer 29: The Mandalorian Edition is built on the 29-inch version of GT’s top BMX bike and the iconic Pro Performer freestyle BMX platform. Combined with unique five-spoke mag wheels and a host of instantly recognizable Mandalorian features, including Beskar armor-inspired paint, a Clan Mudhorn headbadge, “This is the way” embossed in the backside of the saddle and dark lightsaber-inspired reflective elements. The bike also comes with collectible packaging and a personal Clan Mudhorn headbadge.

Just like the Death Star in Return of the Jedi, this batch of 500 limited-edition bikes won’t be around for long, so you'll have to move quicker than the Millennium Falcon with a broken hyperdrive to grab one. Available now at GTbicycles.com priced at $1,200.
