The Banff Mountain Film Festival is touring the UK with a host of films that showcase and celebrate the best of mountain and adventure sports. Following the tragic death of Scottish XC Champion Rab Wardell, tour venues in Scotland will include the film West Highland Way as part of their film programmes. The film charts the competition between riders to complete 95-mile route from Glasgow to Fort William in the fastest time, and Rab Wardell's aim of setting a new record.

The festival comprises 13 films split into Red (seven films) and Blue (six films) programmes. Most venues will be showing either Red or Blue films, though you can watch both at selected theatres. West Highland Way is part of the Red programme.

The dates and venues for the Scottish leg of the Banff Mountain Film Festival are as follows:

  • 18th September – King's Theatre, Glasgow (Blue)
  • 20th September – Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling (Red)
  • 21st September – Music Hall, Aberdeen (Red)
  • 25th September – Festival Theatre, Edinburgh (Red and Blue)

After Scotland, the Banff Mountain Film Festival continues to tour the UK with dates in England, Wales and Ireland later in 2022. Dates and venues for the 2023 tour have also been announced.
