Science in Sport (SiS) has announced that they will be partnering with professional cyclist Freddy Ovett as he takes on new challenges in 2023.

Freddy has enjoyed a successful few seasons as a professional cyclist, most recently riding for UCI Continental team L39ion of Los Angeles. His career highlights to date include a 2nd place finish in the 2022 Esports World Championships and 9th overall at Tour de Langkawi in 2019.

2023 will see him make some exciting changes, as he switches from road to gravel racing. His race season will start with the Esports Zwift World Championships in February, and from there Freddy will take on a host of the best gravel events around the globe, including The Gralloch Scotland in May, Unbound Gravel in June, and the UCI Gravel World Championships in Italy later in the year.

He also aims to continue his season-finishing ‘trademark’, by adding a marathon to his schedule. He is certainly no slouch when it comes to marathon running, running the Los Angeles Marathon in a remarkable time of 2:48:55, and in 2022 bettered that time in the Berlin Marathon, with a 2:45:29 finishing time.

Speaking of his new partnership with Science in Sport, Freddy said "Fuelling in the sports I do is everything, I’m very much looking forward to working with their performance team and keen to push my limits in what is possible with my sports nutrition. They supply a host of not just professional cycling teams but teams and events around the sporting world, so I'm confident their range of gels, powders, and bars will help achieve my goals."
