The Merida Big Trail is a Black Friday mountain bike bargain with a £400 discount

Thought Black Friday was over? Think again! Black Friday lives through the weekend and onto Cyber Monday on the other side, which means there's still plenty of time to bag a great mountain bike deal. Retailers across the internet continue to drop discounts and we'll be updating our Black Friday deals hub as and when the deals appear, so be sure to check it out.

We've been hunting around and found this cracking deal from Cycle Store, which has dropped a nice 28 percent discount off the Merida Big Trail 500 hardtail mountain bike. Renowned for making some of the best hardtail mountain bikes around, they recently updated their Merida Nine XC hardtail and launched the new Big Nine TR. The Merida Big Trail 500 shares similar features to its siblings and with a £400 discount, it's well worth a look.

The Merida Big Trail 500 has a RockShox fork with a 140mm of travel and 29-inch wheels ready for anything you can throw at it. Its aluminum frame balances stiffness with enough compliance to make it a great riding all-rounder mountain bike. Available sized S-XXL in a choice of colors at under £1000, it's a bargain.

The Merida Big Trail was a 'Big Hit’ with our technical editor, Guy Kesteven, calling it, "A really well sorted, feature loaded trail/adventure/daily driver hardtail, with a slack enduro-inspired, modern geometry". As well as Guy's review the Merida Big Trail has been a hit with the mountain bike press and riders alike. Our colleagues at MBR have also confirmed that the Big Trail is firmly at the top of the trail hardtail game in their best mountain bikes under £2000 listings.

The Merida Big Trail 500 is a great option as an entry-level all-rounder hardtail MTB with a decent line-up of components to deliver performance and reliability. A Shimano Deore 11-spd groupset, Tektro HD-M275 brakes, RockShox forks with 140mm of travel, a Merida Comp TR dropper post, and Maxxis tires make this an absolute bargain.

While this offer is for the UK only, we've added our price checker below which will automatically give you the best price on the Merida Big Trail 500 in your territory.
