Vitus has just launched a new budget e-MTB hardtail, the E-Sentier takes Vitus' very popular trail hardtail and equips it with a powerful Bafang motor and a large 630Wh battery.

The ongoing woes of Wiggle/CRC don't seem to be stopping the people at Vitus (which is part of the same company) from developing new bikes and this is a well-overdue update to the E-Sentier range as the previous version of the budget e-MTB still featured an externally mounted battery.

The new E-Sentier gets a full overhaul for 2024. Not only is the motor and battery more integrated it also got a major power boost. The Bafang M510 motor puts out 250W max power and 95Nm torque and is powered by a 630Wh battery.

Geometry also gets an update too, Vitus has slackened the head angle to 65 degrees and steepened the seat tube to 74.5 degrees. The wheelbase has been increased by 130mm compared to the non-motorized version as the chainstays and reach have grown too.

The new E-Sentier comes in four sizes with the medium, large, and extra large featuring 29in wheels, while the small size gets 27.5in wheels front and back.

The Vitus E-Sentier range and availability

There is only one model level and Vitus has specced it with a 140mm RockShox Silver TK fork up front and a Microshift Advent X 1x10 speed drivetrain which has an 11-48T cassette. The wheelset is a WTB ST i30 TCS 2.0 fitted with WTB Vigilante TCS 2.3in tires. The brakes are from Tektro TR180-17 and use 180mm rotors front and rear. The finishing kit is a mix of Vitus and Nukeproof and you get a Brand-X Ascend Dropper too.

The Vitus E-Sentier is available from Wiggle.com for £2,699.99. Unfortunately for shoppers outside the UK, Wiggle/CRC has currently ceased international shipping so this bike isn't currently available elsewhere.
