Canyon has launched a new flagship spec Canyon Sender CFR downhill bike – beyond the ready-to-race spec though is a limited edition paint job in collaboration with Canyon CLLCTV race sponsor Troy Lee Designs.

Troy Lee Designs has long been in the moto and MTB scene bringing its unique moto-inspired aesthetic to the gravity race scene through its clothing and helmets. Troy Lee Designs is the clothing sponsor for Canyon's enduro and downhill teams and the two brands worked together to create a special race kit for World Cup downhiller Luca Shaw to race in for 2023. The kit and bike were first seen in Lourdes where it was ridden to fifth place, then in Fort William where he fell victim to the harsh Scottish conditions.

"As a team within Canyon we have been long-time fans of Troy Lee Designs, and this connection has grown stronger through recent years with the development and support of our DH and Enduro programs. We couldn't be more stoked to be able to pull together a collaboration like this with such an icon of the sport. The final artwork blew away all expectations, and we can't wait to start seeing these things out in the wild," says Jack Noy, Brand Manager of Gravity MTB at Canyon Bicycles.

The Sender CFR is Canyon's best downhill bike and remains unchanged. CFR denotes that the frame is made from Canyon's premium carbon layup which saves a significant amount of weight over the regular CF models. We have previously ridden, and been very impressed by, Canyon's other CFR bikes like the Spectral CFR

The bike comes in either 29er (medium, large, extra-large) or 29/27.5 mullet (small, medium, large) configurations and is decked out with a race-ready spec including RockShox Boxxer Ultimate RC2 and RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate shock, SRAM X01 DH 7sp drivetrain, SRAM Code RSC brakes, and DT Swiss FR 560 240 EXP wheels with Maxxis Minnion DHR tires.

The full build has a claimed weight of 16.38kg and will retail for £6,149. Bikes are available from Canyon.com now although most sizes won't be available till June 20.
