The Garmin Fenix 6 Pro Solar is a seriously high-performing smartwatch, and it's not for just tracking your best mountain bike rides, although it does that extremely well. It does just about everything you could ever need from a smartwatch. From heart rate, blood ox, training effect, and sleep performance, the huge array of data is incredible and accurate. There's even solar charging to keep the already long-lasting battery going even longer.

The Garmin Fenix 6 Pro Solar is without doubt an amazing smartwatch that I've had the opportunity to test. I loved the huge array of cycling performance tracking, but it offers so much more.

For fitness across a huge range of sports, it becomes a superb companion to help your fitness goals. As Bike Perfect's Editor, Rich Owen recently highlighted – Garmin's best training resource is often overlooked and the Garmin Event Adaptive Training tool helped him get his MTB fitness back, after an enforced injury layoff. Well worth checking out if you're on the comeback trail or preparing for an event or race.

The Garmin Fenix 6 Pro Solar also tracks your health and wellness using the wrist-based heart rate sensor, which I found when comparing to a HR Chest strap or the Coros HR Arm strap to be super accurate. It can also measure Pulse Ox, and stress levels and has enhanced sleep tracking, and who knew tracking your sleep stats could be so addictive.

Out with the excellent fitness tracking the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro Solar, has a plethora of useful tools and apps built-in or available via the recently updated Garmin Connect app (which is also excellent) including multi-band GPS, barometric altimeters, compass, and mapping. The long-lasting battery also gets a boost from the solar charging abilities, which gives it around 16 days of battery power.
