Kilian Bron is no stranger to riding on the edge, the French mountain bike adventurer is renowned for some of the best enduro mountain bike and freeride edits. He has ridden in the wildest mountain bike events around the world like the Megavalanche, GoPro Million Dollar Challenge and Mountains of Hell.
With a YouTube channel that receives millions of views, his POV edits riding his mountain bike on insanely narrow and steep trails are stunning, sometimes a little frightening and receive millions of views.
Kilian and his team are back with 'Fuego", an all-new visually spectacular treat for the eyes as he drops what could be his best-ever edit. Its fast pace from the get-go as he rides his dust-covered Meta SX Commencal mountain bike from volcano rim to desert and into jungles and caves in a high-speed epic mountain bike ride, with each line looking more gnarly than the last.
From Guatemala to Peru via Bolivia, for two months Kilian and his creative dream team scoured the most beautiful spots to create amazing footage and breathtaking images, and they couldn't have been luckier arriving at the foot of the Fuego volcano the day before its biggest eruption in four years, with Killian almost casually riding as lava is being thrown 500 meters up in the air behind him.
The South American adventure sees Kilian ride the iconic rainbow mountains in Peru, to the colorful facades of Barrio Chualluma in La Paz, through the geological formations of the Valle de las Animas and the contrasts of the Ausangate. Meeting people from every location on the way including the Cholitas Escaladoras women from the Aymaras indigenous community who climb and conquer the massive summits of the Andes.
An ode to adventure, mountain biking and South America, and includes some of the continent’s most iconic visuals. Fuego is an absolute masterpiece, and a must-watch.
Kilian and his team, along with Commencal will also be launching a book on their South American adventure.
The Journal Volume Six provides another insight into the film and features incredible images taken by JB Liautard and anecdotes of filming by Kilian. Available now at Commencal Bikes.
