Pirelli has improved their gravel tire range with the launch of a new gravel tire, the Cinturato Gravel RCX. This all-new gravel tire is designed to be one of the best gravel bike tires available, and the brand says it's capable of tackling the toughest gravel trails, and the best bikepacking adventures. Pirelli claims it's the perfect choice for riders racing in the best gravel bike races like Unbound Gravel, where it was recently raced by Hannah Shell.

The new tire also made its first public appearance at Eurobike in Frankfurt and Pirelli says it's an even tougher version of its popular Cinturato Gravel RC, with the added X standing for Extreme. The tread of the RCX model remains the same as the Gravel RC, which was based on the highly rated Pirelli Scorpion XC MTB Tire. The tread features a lower central tread to minimize rolling resistance on smooth surfaces, with the MTB-inspired larger side knobs aimed to deliver excellent cornering grip.

The Cinturato Gravel RCX is tubeless-ready, optimized for a wider range of rim widths with excellent rolling resistance. It features the brand's new TechWALL X structure, which has a stronger 60TPI nylon casing with a longer overlap on the sidewall, which Pirelli say makes the tire sidewall more cut-resistant. This is enhanced by an additional high-density bead-to-bead protective layer, that adds to the overall puncture protection.

Like the other Gravel tires in the Pirelli range, the new RC X is made with the brand's tried-and-tested SpeedGRIP compound, developed with the input of teams and riders supported by Pirelli. SpeedGRIP also makes the tire highly durable and gives a proven grip making it ideal for the toughest terrains and most demanding uses.

The Cinturato Gravel RCX will come in three sizing options with the 700x35mm and 700x40mm options launching first and a 700x45mm version to follow. Pirelli claims the weights of the new Cinturato Gravel RCX tire are 480g for the 700x35mm size and 560g for the 700x40mm.
