Best mountain bike deals: Find discounted bikes, components, clothing and more

MTB Deals

Bicycle retailers love a sale. Whether it's one of the large seasonal shopping events or they just need to clear some warehouse space, some of the best mountain bike deals can be found year-round. That means there are loads of websites that offer discounts on mountain bikes, clothing, components, and more.

For most manufacturers, the launch of a new catalog may only mean a tweak of the specification or a new colorway. This means that while the items on sale may be old stock they can be almost exactly the same as the new models - just at a discounted price. Factor in that the manufacturer's RRP rarely means anything and it's great news for shoppers on the hunt for the best mountain bike deals.

Hunting for that tantalizing deal can be time-consuming as you often need to wade through huge numbers of niche parts that are of zero interest. Not to worry though, Bike Perfect has been working hard to find you the best mountain bike deals on bikes, components and clothing that are available right now.

Check out our pick of the best mountain bike deals currently available or if you want to have a hunt yourself we have put together a list of all the best places to find them.

Hardtail mountain bike deals

Hardtails have always been a great way to get out on the trails. Whether you're new to riding or looking for a second bike to mix it up, a hardtail will test your skills, help you learn new techniques and put a smile on your face.

If you are unsure what you look for when buying a hardtail we have a guide to the best hardtail mountain bikes with everything you need to know.

Unfortunately, the increasing number of people getting into mountain biking, not to mention limited stock availability, means that there are currently very few deals on hardtails. That doesn't mean there aren't options for lower budgets if you're willing to pay full price. Check out our guide for the best hardtail mountain bikes under $1500 if you are looking for a great deal on a hardtail mountain bike.

Even more cycling deals

A new bike or parts could mean tackling more technical terrain with higher consequences so it may be a good idea to consider updating your riding gear.

The best mountain bike helmets not only protect your head but also offer increased ventilation and better comfort. If your riding involves fast descending then kneepads are a worthy investment to protect a vulnerable area and keep you riding - check out our guide to the best MTB knee pads for those.

Most new bikes won't come with pedals so be sure to factor them into your budget. We have loads of guides to help you chose the best mountain bike pedals or best MTB flat pedals and best mountain bike shoes for all types of riding and pedal systems.

Haven't found what you want?

Below, we've put together a roundup of the retailers where we regularly find great deals. If our selection of deals picks hasn't supplied you with what you need, we won't just leave you hanging, we're happy to provide you with the tools to help you find your own. While not all of the following retailers sell bikes, they all cross over into the world of cycling in some way or another, be that by selling clothing, components or tech.

Image

Competitive Cyclist is one of the largest cycling retailers in the US. Their cycling sale is ongoing and there are deals aplenty.

Image

BackCountry, the US outdoor sports retailer, is one of the United States' go-to online retailers for bikes, components, clothing and accessories. It doesn't limit itself to cycling though, with fishing, skiing, and even yoga in the range of sports catered for.

Image

Jenson USA is another USA-based retailer and always has thousands of offers available.

Image

Rei is an outdoor retailer based in the USA. There's always a sale, and you can currently get up to 64% off cycling products and even more in other categories.

Image

Gear Coop has a huge cycling section currently with discounts on Giro shoes and helmets.

Image

Seshday has up to 80% off in its sale. It's not all cycling, but there's a good portion of tech that cyclists of both road and mountain bike disciplines will get excited about.

Image

Clever Training is the go-to place for all-things fitness training. With everything from turbo trainers to track pumps, the Clever Training sale has discounts on brands such as Garmin, Suunto, Topeak and more.

Image

Moosejaw isn't a dedicated cycling retailer, but it sells a range of venerable brands. There's a heap of bikes on sale, including hardtail, full-suspension and gravel bikes.

Image

Image

Tree Fort Bikes has a range of mountain bikes, gravel bikes and road bikes on offer, including a number of bikes from Salsa, Surly and Giant.

Image

Walmart might be a left-field inclusion in this list - even with the Walmart family buying Rapha. We certainly wouldn't recommend a typical supermarket bike, but Walmart has a huge range of electronics, a lot of which are useful to us cyclists - such as GoPro cameras, iPads or laptops for Zwift and Garmin computers.

Image

Wiggle is one of the world's largest online cycling shops, supplying over 70 countries with cycling deals.

Image

Chain Reaction Cycles is owned by Wiggle, and therefore shares many of the same cycling deals as well as an international audience.

Image

Evans Cycles is one of the oldest cycling retailers in the world. It is a British company that services the world via its online store.

Image

Amazon isn't exactly the first retailer you think of when shopping for your bike but there's little the world's largest retailer doesn't sell, such as action cameras or Garmin computers.

Image

Tredz is another British retailer with international delivery options and a range of great cycling deals.

Image

Rutland Cycling is yet another British retailer that operates internationally.

Image

Tweeks Cycles is more UK-focused, but there are still some great deals worth checking out.

Image

Hargroves Cycles is a retailer based in the UK and regularly discounts mountain and gravel bikes.

Image

Cyclestore, one of the UK's lesser-known retailers, often has Specialized products at the best available price.

Image

Image

Halfords is discounting all sorts of cycling products, selling everything from budget bikes to accessories.

Graham Cottingham

Graham is all about riding bikes off-road. Based in Edinburgh he has some of the best mountain biking and gravel riding in the UK right on his doorstep. With almost 20 years of riding experience, he has dabbled in downhill, enduro and, most recently, gravel racing. Not afraid of a challenge, Graham has embraced bikepacking over the last few years and likes nothing more than strapping some bags to his bike and covering big miles to explore Scotlands wildernesses. When he isn’t shredding the gnar in the Tweed Valley, sleeping in bushes or tinkering with bikes, he is writing tech reviews for Bike Perfect and the muckier side of Cyclingnews
